BWG Next Meeting

September BWG meeting will be September 11th
Meeting time: 10 AM to 4 PM - $10 at the door
Demonstrator: Dr. Ed Pfau
Dr. Ed Pfau from Monroe, NC will be our featured demonstrator.
  1. Long stem goblets
    Ed's goblet is turned as a one piece item without benefit of a steady reast or a follower rest.  The group will learn the advantages of tension instead of the traditional compression mode.  Beyone that the techniques of light smooth cuts and good skew techniques are shown.
  2. Saturn boxes
    These are small hollow boxes with fitted lids including a loose "ring" that can be rotated on the box.  After looking at the sample you will want to know the secret of how the box is made.  Special tooling is required.  Making the tool will be discussed and blanks for tool making will be available for sale.

The Brasstown Woodturners Guild meets on the second Saturday of each month at Hayesville High School.  Top notch woodturning demonstrators are featured each month.  Meetings begin at 1 PM unless otherwise noted and guests are welcome.  A fee of $5 or $10 is collected at the door for each meeting.  For a map and directions click on the 'Map' menu item at left.
